100 Days to Brave: Day 1

Today, a friend and I are starting a journey through a book called 100 Days to Brave by Annie F. Downs. Every day we will read an excerpt that is designed to help us unlock our “most courageous selves.” I’m excited! And I’m hopeful. But I am also a little bit nervous!

Choosing to be brave is scary. Because bravery isn’t the absence of fear. Bravery is the resolve that comes from deep inside of you and says “screw it” in the face of fear, then moves ahead anyway. It’s just like I read in today’s excerpt:

“Brave people don’t stop hearing the whispers of fear. They hear the whispers but take action anyway.”

So I’m doing this! I’ve been on my Braver Than Before journey for over a year now. Sure, I have taken plenty of blogging breaks during that time, but I have never given up my desire to pursue a radical kind of courage that would change my life. And I’m excited to see how 100 Days to Brave fits into this journey!

I’m not promising that I will blog about it every day. In fact, at this point, I don’t feel I can make any promises about any level of blogging consistency whatsoever!

But here’s what I can promise.

I promise that I am going to take my 100 Days to Brave journey 100% seriously and do my best to read and process through it every day.

I promise that I will occasionally update about it on my blog (sometimes it may happen more often than others).

And I promise that I am committed to continually becoming braver than before!

If you’re interested in coming along on this journey, you can order the book here:

I think it’s going to be a great time. And if nothing else, the cover is super pretty!
